SECURITY DEPOSIT: A 400 security deposit will be added to the total of your rental fee. The security deposit will be refunded 14 days after departure, less damage or replacement costs, if any.

CLEANING: 125 non-refundable out-cleaning fee.
(A 65 interim cleaning fee will be added to stays of 14 days or more.)
SECURITY DEPOSIT: A 200 security deposit will be added to the total of your rental fee. The security deposit will be refunded 14 days after departure, less damage or replacement costs, if any.
DEPOSIT: A Deposit equal to 50% of the total due will be required to book your reservation, with the balance due 90 days prior to arrival. Reserving within 90 days of your arrival date requires that the total amount of your invoice be paid at booking. Balances not paid by the due date will result in forfeiture of the Deposit.
TAX: 14.962% tax added to rental rate (4.712% excise and 10.25% transient accommodation).
PAYMENT: We accept PayPal*/Credit Card*, Cash, Checks, Money Order (e.g. USPS), or Wire Transfers; (* a surcharge of 3% US domestic and 4% international will be added).
CANCELLATION: All fees received are non-refundable. If we re-book the cottage, we will refund all of your money, pro-rata, minus a $50 processing fee. We will make every effort to re-book dates. Cancellations and early departures due to inclement weather are not subject to refund. If you have any concerns about your travel plans we suggest you consider obtaining trip insurance through a 3rd party company by comparing prices and features online.
THIS IS A NON-SMOKING AND NO SHOES HOUSE: Please respect this requirement or an additional cleaning fee will be charged. Absolutely no tobacco product or by-product in the cottages including the trash, and no incense or scented candles. If you need to wear shoes indoors please be sure to have a clean pair available for indoor use only.
CHECK-IN: is at 3:00 P.M. and Check-Out is at 10:00 A.M. This gives our cleaning staff a bare minimum of time to prepare the cottage for the next guests, most of who will arrive by 3:00 p.m. that same day, tired from traveling and anxious to get moved in and relax.
LATE CHECK OUT: Late Check-Outs are available upon availability at 50% of the nightly rate, plus taxes. You will have access to the cottage and property until the time you leave for the airport on your departure day. This is recommended for late night or red-eye flights
TELEPHONE: There is a landline and telephone/ answering machine in the cottage. Local calls are free. Any other calls must be made by other means (e.g. cell phone, Skype, Facetime).
AMENITIES: ALL amenities are included free (there are no additional charges beyond those outlined above), regardless of the length of your stay. Please see our cottage descriptions for amenity details and feel free to ask for clarifications.
OTHER NOTES: 17 Palms Kauai is a fully licensed and permitted property located in a visitor destination area (VDA zone) and approved by the County of Kauai under Transient Vacation Rental (TVR) licences #3054 & #3055 and licensed by the State Tax Department under Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT) license #W25239873-01.

We make every effort to ensure that all equipment is in working order and that the surrounding environment is as pleasing as possible. In the event of an equipment breakdown, we will strive to repair it as soon as possible after being notified of a problem. We cannot guarantee that televisions, appliances, etc. will not break down during your stay (especially with the unrelenting salt air) and therefore, no refunds or adjustments can be made for mechanical failure. We cannot take responsibility for any other unexpected situations beyond our control such as power outages, insects, roosters, weather, nearby construction and the like.
